First Innings – Lucknow Super Giants batting
Lucknow Super Giants batted first after losing the toss. Pitch seemed good for batting but Delhi bowlers utilized it pretty well.
LSG had a decent beginning but they could not really step on the accelerator in the middle overs. Frequent wickets stifled the run rate. Delhi bowlers kept things tight as a couple of batters tried to build partnerships.
Lucknow managed to score runs in the death overs but did not reach a huge total. The finishing scoreline seemed close enough, but was just a tad below-average by contemporary IPL benchmarks.

Second Innings – Delhi Capitals Chase
Delhi Capitals chased the target down convincingly. Their top order laid good groundwork which eased things later.
Sameer Rizvi, who had a top score in the chase. He managed the game really well and did not let pressure mount. All through the innings, his shot selection and timing were notable.
Through it all, Delhi maintained a stranglehold on the required run-rate, even when Lucknow threatened to claw their way back into contention with a couple of wickets. The middle order played well and did not let late surprises happen.
Delhi Capitals had little trouble overhauling the target and pocketing a vital win.

The IPL 2026 clash between Lucknow Super Giants and Delhi Capitals at the Ekana Stadium turned out to be a low-scoring but interesting contest. Delhi Capitals held their nerve and completed a comfortable chase to win the match.
Match Result
Delhi Capitals beat Lucknow Super Giants by 6 wickets
- Lucknow Super Giants: 141 all out (18.4 overs)
- Delhi Capitals: 145/4 (in 18+ overs)
Lucknow Super Giants Batting Performance
Lucknow Super Giants never got their act together after being invited to bat first. The innings began with a few spoken words when they slumped to 14/4.
The top order failed to set a foundation and Delhi bowlers kept taking wickets at regular intervals. There were a couple of small partnerships in the middle overs, but none big enough to swing the game.
The Ekana pitch made scoring freely quite difficult for LSG batters. With that, the run rate remained down all through the innings. Anyway, in their quest for speedy finishing at the other end of the innings, they lost wickets regularly and were bowled out for what seemed a sub-par total of 141 in 18.4 overs.
Delhi Capitals Bowling Performance
The Delhi Capitals bowlers put up a disciplined display. They exploited the conditions well and ensured that no LSG batter got on top.
The bowlers kept tight lines and lengths that induced errors from the batters. Regular breakthroughs kept Lucknow from ever posting a big total.
This excellent bowling display was crucial to pushing the match in Delhi’s favour.
Delhi Capitals Batting Performance
Delhi Capitals began cautiously in pursuit of 142. The openers concentrated on laying a foundation rather than playing aggressively up front.
The required run rate was always under control although they lost a few wickets in the middle phase. The make-or-break moment of the chase came courtesy Sameer Rizvi’s calm, composed innings.
He batted with maturity, rotated the strike well and hit boundaries at the right moments. His innings gave the chase no cause for panic.
The Capitals eventually ended with 145/4, winning the match agelessly with wickets remaining.
Final Summary
It was a brilliant IPL team effort from Delhi Capitals. Their bowlers had set the tone early and the batters took care of business smartly.
Lucknow Super Giants would be quite disappointed with their batting as they did not put enough runs on the board. Delhi Capitals, on the contrary, will draw confidence from this well-fought victory.
